She told me about her current trip in Yogyakarta and mentioned another set of interesting temples adjacent to the likes of Angkor Wat. That same night, I told myself that I want to see Borobodur and Prambanan myself. But, getting there isn't as simple as booking a direct flight to Bali or Jakarta. Siem Reap, Cambodia: Same Same But Different Tips

Last October of 2013, my friends and I scored a promo flight via Cebu Pacific, and decided to fill our inner Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider at the beautiful kingdom of Cambodia.

Siem Reap is known for it's ancient ruins, rich with history, and is perfect for those who want to tick off a box from their bucket list. There are so many temples you can visit, bars that do not sleep, kids who would never get tired on offering you to buy their $1-postcards, and other activities that could literally take your breath away.

Clark, Pampanga: The Hot Air Balloon Festival

It's February! The season of Superbowl, the start of the Chinese New Year, the preparation for Valentine's day, and the beginning of summer. Last February 2013, it wasn't only love that floated in the air... we also had balloons. :) 

Unfortunately, the 19th Hot Air Balloon Festival, an annual event held every February at Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, was almost cancelled until the Department of Tourism decided to take over the event. This year's festival will be moved to April 10-13, 2014 instead but on the same venue.

Traveling with a Full-time Job

People keep on asking me the same questions. 'How do you do it? How the hell do you still get to travel given that limited time and resources?'

I'm a twenty-something, graphic designer, working for a company that requires us to complete at least 43 hours a week. That's 5 8-hr weekdays and 3 hrs on Saturdays. I live on my own with a humble wage, and my bills take up more than half of what I earn. I also pay for my insurance, my daily meals, twice a week sessions of Muay Thai, and random food trips with friends. Let me assure you that I've only started this travel lifestyle in late 2012. In 1 year, I've traveled to 3 countries: Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Locally, I've been to long trips such as Coron, La Union, Bicol, Puerto Princesa, and short trips to Baguio, Baler, Bataan, Tagaytay, Pampanga, and Batangas. And most importantly, I don't own a credit card.
